It’s been more than a year since we last checked in with Alfredo Lapuz Jr, or, as he’s known on the streets, Immuzikation. His absurd skills have surprisingly only managed to improve with time. To say that he’s thumpin’ out the hits is an outrageous understatement. While none of these tracks are iPad new, the thought of you not having them in your iTunes kept me up last night, well, that and the cocaine. How he was able to blend the tremendous hits “Ambling Alp” and “Giving Up the Gun” so seamlessly that it actually sounds like one song, I’ll never know. Immuzikation is truly a master of his craft, and an artist who should absolutely be watched. With his abundance of talent, no one can be certain what Mr. Lapuz will do next, but I can promise you it will be miraculous. And thus endeth another installment of “Mailing It In” with your host, David Jacobs.

Damn right, it's gonna be a theme party.

Here at the Show, we have a strictly-enforced policy of self-congratulation. Therefore, on the 22nd of every month, we are compelled to celebrate. Why, you new readers ask? Because it’s our birthday. Grab your party spork, because we’re having ice cream cake after Domino’s delivers the pizzas. Fistfuls of Smarties for everyone!

You probably remember how, at the last birthday, I unveiled Animal Show 2.o, Snowleopardtigerspots, complete with 4 new staffers. Now you’re wondering what the 2nd birthday surprise is: nothing. Expect the blog to become more petulant and obnoxious as it enters its terrible twos, and be grateful that I don’t start taking things away from you. These dire economic times have been hard on the Show — whereas we used to sip champagne when we thirstayy, a la Biggie, now we are forced to drink Crystal Light instead of water. A very unfortunate corporate tie-in. Anyway, we did start streaming mp3s, maybe you noticed. Isn’t that enough? And we’ll continue to deliver jams and gems, old and new, to make you laugh, cry, or poop your pants. Keep reading, and I’ll keep writing. If some animals were to be mashed up, this would be the awesomest possible result.

I’m not frequently blown away by new music. Typically, it takes me a couple of listens to really fall in love with an artist. But every now and then, I’m amazed by what I find. And that’s just happened to me with Immuzikation, a mashup DJ who has provided me with some priceless jams.

Thinking back, I think the last song that’s wowed me like Immuzikation’s stuff has was Nadastrom’s remix of WTF (with Kid Sister). If you haven’t already, download it now. But this is fantastic stuff. So fantastic that I used my gryffin image waaaaaay sooner than I’d planned to. Now I’ve blued myself, prematurely shooting my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run. Download these post-haste, and consider it recompense for that horror of a cover I showed you earlier.

PS: The artists “vs” listenings on these are so extensive I couldn’t possibly be bothered to transcribe them all. I’ve listed them below where I felt it necessary, and otherwise they’re contained in the song’s ID3 tag (AKA WHAT POPS UP WHEN YOU PUT IT IN ITUNES, DAD).
